Teens at Whisk – 3 Day – Ringing in the New Year Around the World

This 3-Day Camp is designed for teens ages 13-18.

What better way to ring in the New Year than to celebrate in four different countries without needing a passport!  Every country has their own way of ringing in the New Year and many of the traditions revolve around foods that are eaten to bring good luck, prosperity and longevity throughout the coming year.  In this hands-on, 3-day camp, Chef Lee Baker will lead your teen through both savory and sweet dishes that might become traditions in your family.  Each day they will sample their creations in class and bring the rest home for all to enjoy.

Tuesday – Mexico

  • Chicken Tamales
  • Salsa Verde
  • Churros with Hot Chocolate Sauce

Wednesday – Italy & Spain

  • Homemade Cheese Tortellini
  • Creamy Tomato Sauce
  • Mini Italian Grape Surprise Cakes

Thursday – Germany

  • Pork Schnitzel
  • Spätzle with Thyme and Lemon
  • Berliners (Jelly filled doughnuts traditionally eaten at midnight)

All classes are taught by a culinary professional, with 2 assistants.

No prior cooking experience is required, just an interest to learn.

This 3-Day Camp is designed for Teens ages 13 and up.

What better way to jump into the holiday season than to learn how to create holiday treats and treasures that are enjoyed by all generations.  In this hands-on, 3-day camp, Chef Lee Baker will teach your teen all her foolproof tips and tricks for baking up numerous holiday treats.  Your teen will create several types of holiday cookies and on the final day they will bake, assemble and decorate a Bûche de Noël (Yule Log) complete with meringue mushrooms.  Each day they will sample their creations in class and bring the rest home for all to enjoy.

This 3-Day Camp is designed for kids ages 8-12.

Pastry Chef  Lee Baker,  will teach your kids how to make her favorite holiday cookie recipes. First, we’ll whip up a couple of varieties of cookie dough, learning about measuring for consistency, mixing processes and best ingredients to use. Afterwards, we frost and decorate our sugar cookies in holiday style. We will work on rolling, baking, cooling techniques  to get foolproof results. Hand selected, kid tested favorites are on the menu for this class. At Whisk, we make learning fun while building confidence and pride in kids. You will sample your cookies in class and take the rest home to share.

  • Chocolate Peppermint Crinkle Cookies

This class is designed for kids ages 8 to 12 years old.

After a delicious Thanksgiving meal everyone looks forward to what will be served for dessert. You are never to young to learn how to make amazing desserts that please any crowd. In this hands-on class your kids will spend a fun morning with Chef Lee Baker as she teaches them how to make a classic crumble pie with apple filling and mini pumpkin cheesecakes with a gingersnap crust.  Your kids will learn the secrets to making the perfect, ever versatile, crumble topping that can be used on many different types of fruit fillings and how to make foolproof cheesecakes everytime.

Come join Chef Lee Baker to learn the fundamentals of baking. Chef Lee will guide you through a hands-on experience creating some of your favorite baked goods and desserts. Each day we will learn new culinary terms, ingredient functions, measuring, mixing, decorating and so much more. By the end of the week you will be a confident baker and have so many goodies to taste and share!

Learning the art of French pastry making will set you up for a lifetime of successful baking! In this week-long session, Chef Lee Baker will provide you with all the techniques needed to turn out a boisseau of pastries. Each day you will sample your pastries, confections and crepes and bring the rest home to share. If you are interested in baking or simply love to eat delicious French pastries, this session is for you!
