Teens at Whisk Wednesday Only – World Dumplings – Japan

This class is Wednesday only July 10th  from 2-4

This 5-day camp is designed for teens age 13 and above.

From 2:00 PM TO 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Dumplings are popular all around the world, they come in various shapes and sizes and go by names such as Perogies, Har Gow, Gyoza, Manjū and more.  Almost every country has them, both savory and sweet. In this week-long camp, Chef Hend Yahya will take your teen on a worldwide tour featuring dumplings.  Chef Hend will teach your teen the various techniques for making each dumplings wrapper from scratch as well as the various fillings and sauces specific to each type of dumpling. Our skilled culinary team will assist each day as your teen practices knife skills and becomes familiar with everyday kitchen equipment.  Join us for a globetrotting dumpling experience in the Whisk kitchen.

Monday: Eastern Europe
Dumpling Dough, Potato Perogies and Salmon Pelmenis

Tuesday: China
Homemade Dough for Bao Bun with Chicken and Shrimp Har Gow

Wednesday: Japan
Vegetable Gyoza and Red Bean Manjū

Thursday: Middle East
Lamb Manti with Yogurt Sauce and Cheese Atayef

Friday: Europe
German Potato Dumplings and Ndunderi (Lemon Ricotta Gnocchi)

  • All classes are taught by a Culinary Professional, with 2 adult assistants.
  • No prior cooking experience is required, just an interest to learn.
  • For safety reasons, please tie long hair back and wear closed-toed shoes.
  • Students will be working with flour, butter and eggs and so we cannot accommodate students with allergies to working with gluten, dairy or eggs.
